I am a permanent resident or international student, can I enter the 2023 Kennedy Prize?

No. Entrants must be Australian citizens, resident in Australia for twelve (12) months or more in the last eighteen (18) months immediately prior to the Entry Closing Date and currently residing in Australia. For example, if you have or are elligble for an Australian Passport, and meet the residancy requirements, you can enter.

 

I was born and raised in South Australia but now live in Tasmania, can I enter the 2023 Kennedy Prize four times?

You have to be a South Australian Resident to enter four times.

To be resident in South Australia, an entrant must have been resident in South Australia for twelve (12) months or more in the eighteen (18) months immediately prior to the Entry Closing Date and currently residing in South Australia.

 

How many times can I enter?

For the 2023 Kennedy Prize, everyone can enter three artworks, paying an entry fee for each.

SA residents can enter four artworks, paying an entry fee for each.

 

I have a triptych painting or a painting with 100 panels, can I enter it as one entry?

Yes! If you consider it as one artwork then it can be entered as one entry. Remember it does have to have a total dimension less than 1.8m X 1.8m.

Are pastels eligible to enter?

Yes! Pastel Paintings are eligible to enter.

Why does the 2023 Kennedy Prize have the sole category of Painting and not all visual media as it had in previous years?

At any given year it is at the discretion of the Foundation members to select entry categories. This year they have selected paintings only.
