Most people step over seaweed at the beach and consider it, if they regard it at all, as something weird and ugly. Even the common name, seaweed, is dismissive. But seaweed can be incredibly beautiful, and it is definitely precious – most of the seaweeds on the South East Australian coastline appear nowhere else in the world.
