In 2022, I completed treatment for breast cancer. Painting this portrait helped expel demons, transferring the journey to the canvas.
I wanted to show that beauty goes beyond the external; my friend’s mother died after refusing treatment for cancer because she didn’t want to go bald.
Also, people made me hats – people can be kind and beautiful.
