01 | Thresholds of Beauty | Sophie Freshwater | $7500 | Oil on birch panel; featuring layered glazes creating luminous transparency.

Thresholds of Beauty explores beauty beyond appearance. A greyhound occupies the space between domestic security and its own reflection, symbolising resilience, vulnerability and hope. Inspired by rescue greyhounds, the work proposes that true beauty lies in the capacity to endure uncertainty, trust and remain open to connection.
