The proceeds of the sales will aid the foundation in the continuance of the Kennedy Prize and will see the inclusion of future subsidiary prizes to encourage and support a wider spectrum of artists.
Painted in 1988, this figure-in-landscape work has been an important part of the inspiration for the Kennedy Prize’s guiding theme of beauty. Carmelita Clohesy was both a close friend and mentor to Bob Kennedy, teaching him the skill and love of painting which he continues today. Mr. Kennedy chose this work not only as an example of his vision of beauty in art but also as a testament and legacy of Carmelita Clohesy.
